EuroCharity is a values-based, internationally-run and socially-responsive firm with a mission of making a world of difference in the citizen sector and business community by building bridges, both locally and globally. Founded in 2006, EuroCharity owns, publishes and daily updates Greece's only bi-lingual (Greek and English) Corporate Social Responsibility Directory -- www.eurocharity.org/en/. Headquartered in Athens, EuroCharity pro-actively supports and co-organises conferences, events, awards, competitions and campaigns that focus on raising awareness of numerous issues related to sustainability, CSR, business excellence, socially-responsive investment (SRI), ethics, corporate philanthropy, clean technology, green innovation and entrepreneurship, and accountability. EuroCharity strives to meet the challenges and needs of both the business world and citizen sector, pro-actively promotes CSR and best practices in Greece and beyond, is involved in a number of hard-needed tree-planting, citizen sector and CSR campaigns, and is an environmentally-active firm that currently focuses mainly on Greece but has an international membership and readership base.

At EuroCharity, making a world of difference is not just a motto or mission, but deeply embedded in the DNA of our company, which is owned and run by a team of young, illuminary, values-based entrepreneurs from Greece and The Netherlands.

CSRwire

EuroCharity partners with CSRwire, the leading source of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability news, reports and information. CSRwire members are companies, citizen sector organsations and agencies interested in communicating their corporate citizenship, sustainability, and socially responsible initiatives to a global audience through CSRwire's syndication network and weekly News Alerts. CSRwire content covers issues of Diversity, Philanthropy, Socially-Responsive Investing (SRI), Environment, Human Rights, Workplace Issues, Business Ethics, Community Development and Corporate Governance.

CSRwire seeks to promote the growth of corporate responsibility and sustainability through solutions-based information and positive examples of corporate practices, including:

  • News distribution
  • Corporate and independent report links
  • CSR events participation and promotion
  • CSR resources
  • Open dialogue in the CSRwire Think Tank
  • The Springfield Open Exchange

CSRwire defines CSR as the "integration of business operations and values, whereby the interests of all stakeholders including investors, customers, employees, the community and the environment are reflected in the company's policies and actions". CSRwire employees are actively engaged in volunteering, philanthropy, community development and environmental stewardship. CSRwire is a carbon neutral company committed to sustainable environmental and business practices.

CSRwire's parent company, Meadowbrook Lane Capital, LLC (www.meadowbrooklane.com), has been described as a "socially-responsible investment bank" by The Wall Street Journal. The company specialises in turning values into valuation while concentrating on succession issues for mission-driven companies. Meadowbrook Lane and CSRwire's offices are located on Gasoline Alley in Springfield, Massachusetts -- a chemically-contaminated, industrial area in an underserved community. During the past ten years, Meadowbrook Lane has worked to revitalise this community through the Gasoline Alley Foundation (www.gasolinealley.org) and operates a small business incubator to help launch socially-responsible businesses.

Ethical CorporationEuroCharity also partners with Ethical Corporation, an independent, London-based publisher and conference organiser, launched in 2001 to encourage debate and discussion on responsible business. Owned by First Conferences Ltd. (www.firstconf.com), global providers of market-leading business news, intelligence and events, Ethical Corporation publishes a monthly print magazine, a daily Web site, holds conferences around the world, now and again produces reports on business ethics in big firms, and also publishes an on-line magazine www.climatechangecorp.com, which was launched in February 2007.
